ENGL Driver Manager 5.0.1 is now available to download. Hurray for ENGL, Hip, Hip, Hurray!! [Ed: Enough of that!]

System Center Configuration Manager 1511 support

As part of our commitment to support new versions of SCCM, we're pleased to bring you support for SCCM 1511. Due to some API changes between SCCM 2012 and 1511, we needed to modify our integration methods which is why SCCM 1511 is only available for Driver Manager 5.0.1.

Driver download and analysis improvements

In-line with the changes we introduced to ENGL Imaging Toolkit's driver management capabilities, Driver Manager 5.0.1 includes a new driver download engine that increases reliability.

Bug fixes

In Driver Manager 5.0.1 we've splattered an annoying bug which caused required disk space to be incorrectly calculated during integration.

For a complete list of changes in Driver Manager 5.0.1 please visit the change log. For the latest list of MDT and SCCM supported versions please visit the Driver Manager compatibility page.

According to NCR, the largest ATM supplier in the U.S., over 90% of the world's cash machines are powered by Windows XP. A further 4% are running Windows 3.11 [for Workgroups] which according to several hacking groups, have had Windows XP wallpaper installed to avoid paying license fees.

Today we have added support for ZCM 11.4.1 to Imaging Toolkit 10.

ZCM 11.4.1 adds full Windows 10 support (Professional, Enterprise and Education editions) and means you can now deploy Windows 10 with Imaging Toolkit 10 using ZCM.

There are a couple of caveats to be aware of:

1. As per point 6.15 of the readme, Windows 10 imaging is not currently supported when using the Tuxera driver. We understand from the ZENworks team that there will be an imaging update released soon that will resolve this issue.

2. During our internal testing we have seen issues with Windows 10 1511 (build 10586) and the Novell Client 2 SP4 IR1. The Imaging Toolkit build process will stall because the Novell client fails to automatically login. We have reported this issue and are waiting a fix.

If you have any queries regarding ZCM 11.4.1 support or Windows 10 deployment please contact our Support team. A full list of supported ZENworks versions is available on our Compatibility page.

Imaging Toolkit release history

One of the most exciting changes in 9.0.2, is support for Deployment Monitor's log viewing capability. If you have ever tried to analyse imaging and Windows build process log files, you are going to love this feature. See the next section for more details.

Deployment Monitor 1.0.4

This release includes the following:

  • Ability to display build process log files (requires Imaging Toolkit 9.0.2)
  • Mobile App compatible (to be released at later date)
  • Bug fixes since Deployment Monitor 1.0.3

Deployment Monitor release history

Deployment Monitor 1.0.4 includes a lot of engineering effort, most of which you won't see until we release the Deployment Monitor Mobile App. The Mobile App on Android and iOS, will give you a real time view of machines whether they are in-progress, successful, or failed. We'll be talking more about the Mobile App in the near future when it's available to download.

The 1.0.4 release includes the ability to view deployment log files created by Imaging Toolkit. Until now, it has been painful to retrieve log files from the imaging environment. Using Imaging Toolkit 9.0.2, log files for imaging and the Windows build process will be automatically sent to the Deployment Monitor 1.0.4 server (provided a Deployment Monitor server has been configured in Build Console). Using the Deployment Monitor Web Console, you can now view the log files, which opens a window with a conbined Zim and Ztoolkit log. Furthermore, the log files can be saved to a single text file and sent to ENGL to help with troubleshooting.

Check out the Deployment Monitor home page for screenshot heaven.
