After 40 years in IT, I've decided that the time has come to hang up my Support spurs, and ride off into the early retirement sunset. In my time I've worked as a Programmer (FORTRAN and COBOL - yes, I'm that old!), Systems Analyst, PC specialist (I was in the team that imported some of the first IBM PCs into the country), Network Specialist (I installed my first Novell NetWare server around 31 years ago), Consultant, and yes, of course, Tech. Support.

I've really enjoyed my time with ENGL, and you, our customers, are what's made it very special. I want to thank all of you for the positive responses I've received when we've managed to get you working again, and also the patience you've shown if any issue took longer to resolve than we'd like!

My wife & I are looking forward to this early retirement, while we're still (relatively) young enough to enjoy it, and I expect to replace spending time in the lab with time spent in the kitchen, as  I finally get enough time to indulge in more cooking!

I'd like to wish each and every one of you (including my brilliant colleagues) all the best in the future, and I know that you will continue to receive the highest possible level of support from ENGL.

With the release of Imaging Toolkit 10.0.9 we have added the ability to create a deployment process that can be used with any cloud based endpoint management solution. This blog demonstrates how to configure a deployment project to deploy Windows 10 1709 and integrate with AutoTask Endpoint Management (AEM).

ENGL Driver Manager 7 (released on November 24, 2017) includes enhancements, bug fixes, and support for "any" task-based Windows OS deployment solution. In this blog we'll look into what's new in Driver Manager 7.

Any task-based OS deployment solution

Driver Manager already includes support for Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT), Symantec DS/ITMS, Symantec GSS, and System Center Configuration Manager. For some deployment solutions we provide tighter integration, for example with System Center we can create driver and software packages, allowing the deployment solution to replicate the content between sites. We'll continue to extend Driver Manager with tighter support for new deployment solutions where we feel we can add functionality that benefits administrators.

With the release of ENGL Driver Manager 7 (ETA end of November 2017), we have added the ability to deploy drivers to any task-based OS deployment solution.

In this blog post we will look at using Driver Manager to replace the Hardware Independent Imaging (HII) component of Ivanti Endpoint Manager 2017 (previously LANDesk Management Suite). Driver Manager handles critical (mass storage and network) INF drivers, standard INF drivers and application package (setup.exe) type drivers.
