Introducing ENGL ZmgWiz!

ENGL ZmgWiz is a Windows utility that can scan one or more ZENworks image (.zmg) files and display a detailed disk and file usage report. ENGL ZmgWiz can help administrators understand what disk space is being used by files within ZENworks images and alert them to the amount of space that could be saved by purging or recreating the images. ENGL ZmgWiz can also output the report to an XML file that could be displayed with XSL and HTML.

Server disk space is always a problem regardless of the number of images an organisation has to maintain. The problem can be eased by using ENGL Imaging Toolkit for ZENworks to reduce the number of base images required for Windows 2000 and XP imaging. During the lifecycle of an image, it is likely that files will be deleted or added to the image using the ZENworks Image Explorer. Unfortunately, ZENworks Image Explorer will only purge deleted files, it does not purge files or directories that have been updated in the image. Furthermore when images are restored all files that have been previously updated/replaced are sequentially restored regardless of which file is the most recent version, which increases image deployment time.
